Forgo Compensation. Each Non-Employee Director will be eligible to forgo all or a portion of his or her Board Compensation for any Term. Elections with respect to any Term must be made in writing to the Company prior to the start of such Term and all such elections will be irrevocable.

In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Executive volunteered to forgo 100% of his base salary from April 1, 2020 until May 31, 2020 and the Board of Directors of the Company agreed to reduce his compensation accordingly.

The Parties forgo a probationary period.

Compensation. In full payment for Employee’s services, Employer shall provide to Employee compensation and benefits determined in accordance with this Section 4.

Compensation. FibroGen will pay you a starting annual salary of $500,000, payable in semi-monthly installments on our regular paydays in accordance with FibroGen's standard payroll policies. Your salary will begin as of the Effective Date. The position is classified as exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay. The first and last payment by FibroGen to you will be adjusted, if necessary, to reflect a commencement or termination date other than the first or last working day of a pay period.

Compensation. Paragraph 3(b) is hereby deleted and replaced in its entirety with the following (with all capitalized terms having the meaning originally ascribed thereto in the Agreement):

Compensation. In exchange for the performance of the Transition Services, the Company shall continue to pay to Employee her base salary as in effect as of June 28, 2021 ("Base Salary"), in equal installments, in accordance with the Company's standard payroll practices.
